Preparation to operate “Arak” gas field stations | Russian engineering team and forces enter the field with 5th Corps

SOHR activists have reported that Russian forces have stationed in “Arak” gas field stations eastern of Homs, along with Russian-backed 5th Corps.

Moreover, Russian technical and engineering teams arrived to repair stations in the field, following violent clashes with ISIS fighters during the control of ISIS over the eastern Homs countryside.

Russian forces had headed towards Al-Houra village in Al-Raqqa countryside and stationed in the region, to guard the oil and gas fields there.

This comes in light of the Russian domination over vital areas in Syria.

These developments came after the 5th Corps had undergone military trainings in late January.

On January 30, Reliable sources told the Syrian Observatory that Russian forces began conducting military exercises for “8th Brigade” fighters operating under the burner of their backed “5th Corps”.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, Russian forces transported a number of brigade personnel to “T4” airport in central Syria in the countryside of Homs, in addition to transporting a number of others to camps in the countryside of Daraa to conduct military exercises on the use of various types of weapons.
