Arbitrary arrests | Military security gunmen arrest four civilians in Daraa

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that local gunmen operating under the banner of military security service have raided a house in Al-Sabeel neighborhood in Daraa city in the early hours of Monday morning.

The gunmen have illegally searched the entire house and arrested four persons, including the owner of the house. However, the reason behind their arrest remained unknown.

The militiamen are affiliated with Mustafa Al-Masalmeh, nicknamed “Al-Kasem,” a former leader of an opposition faction, who join military security after he struck a reconciliation deal.

On January 14, as the Syrian regime continues arbitrary arrests in areas under its control, sources reported that members of the regime military security service stationed at a checkpoint in north Daraa countryside arrested a driver of a mini-bus from Kafr Nasij town in the same countryside.
