Torture victim | Yazidi woman miscarries in Ma’rata prison inside Afrin countryside
Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that a Yazidi woman had a miscarriage inside Ma’rata prison in Afrin countryside northern of Aleppo, under brutal physical and psychological torture.
According to sources, the Military Police handed the body of the baby to the mother of the tortured woman “A.M.” after six months of pregnancy, where the baby was buried in the graveyard of Kaimar village.
The woman was arrested on September 12, 2021, on charges of “dealing with the Autonomous Administration.”
It is worth noting that the woman had been arrested and released after her parents had paid ransoms, before being arrested for a second time for the same charges, meanwhile the woman is still held inside the infamous Ma’rata prison despite having a miscarriage and being subject to physical and psychological torture.
Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that a military police patrol arrested a resident from Hajiku village in Raju district in Afrin countryside on charges of “going out in guard shifts” during the autonomous administration’s control of Afrin city.
Jaish Al-Islam faction also illegally arrested a civilian from Afrin for “dealing with the former autonomous administration” and collecting a ransom for his release.
SOHR reliable sources reported that Al-Jabha Al-Shamyiah had released a civilian from Taranda village in Afrin countryside last Friday, after he had paid a ransom of USD 3000. The civilian was arrested on December 30 on a charge of “dealing with the former autonomous administration”, the faction also had seized his mobile phone and 1000 US dollars.
On January 5, military police had released two residents from Maamal Ushagi village in Raju district, who had been arrested on January 4, on a charge of “going out in guard shifts” during the autonomous administration’s control of Afrin city, after paying 2,400 Turkish lire for their release.
