Turkish-backed factions’ violations | Al-Hamza division seizes hundreds of olive trees in Sharan district, while “Al-Sham corps” cut trees in Shirawa district

Aleppo province: “Al-Sham corps”, which is close to Turkish intelligence, systematically cut down olive trees in various areas of Shirawa district adjacent to the frontlines with Kurdish forces in Afrin countryside, SOHR reliable sources reported.

Meanwhile, Al-Hamza division continues to seize hundreds of olive trees by force in Maidanki village in Sharan district, SOHR activists have reported that the faction militiamen have seized nearly 1,100 olive trees belonging to eight civilians from Maidanki village. The residents have lodged a complaint against the faction with the “rights restitution committee”, then the residents withdrew their complaint after they had received threats of arrests in charge of “dealing with autonomous administration.”

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported that armed men of “Al-Hamza division” cut down more than 300 olive trees belonging to a civilian from Drakarih village in Maabatli district.

” Suqour Al-Sham Brigade” continued cutting olive trees in “Ali Jarrow” village in Bulbul district, in full view of the people and in broad daylight, however, nobody was able to deter them. In recent days, the faction cut down almost 250 trees some of them were completely felled and some partially cut down, then the faction sold them as fire logs. ”

The Syrian Observatory affirms that Turkish forces and their proxies keep breaching all international laws and charters, and with nobody being able to put an end to these “grave” violations, despite SOHR repeated warnings about the dreadful humanitarian situation in the region.

We, at the Syrian Observatory, renew our call on international organizations and UN Security Council to work hard and exert pressure on the Turkish government to stop daily violations against human beings, trees, and stones in the areas of Euphrates Shield, olive branch, and peace spring
