Athletes demand rehabilitation of the Municipal Stadium in Al-Raqqah
Al-Raqqah province: Large parts of the Municipal Stadium in Al-Raqqah city have been still devastated since the elimination of ISIS from Al-Raqqah city a few years ago, where it was one of the ISIS prominent prisons in Al-Raqqah, and it was known as the “11th Post”.
The number of the sports halls in the Municipal Stadium has reached 11, eight of which were rehabilitated by athletes and the Commission of Youth and Sport Affairs in Al-Raqqah in the past three years.
According to SOHR sources, the number of trainers in the stadium since it was opened in 2018 has reached 1000, despite the destruction, lack of support provided to the stadium and electricity blackout.
Through the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, athletes of Al-Raqqah have called upon the relevant bodies and organizations operating in the province not to abandon their responsibilities and obligations and to rehabilitate the entire stadium.
