After killing over 20 ISIS members a few days ago | Russian jets target positions in the Syrian desert with dozens of airstrikes

SOHR activists have reported ongoing escalation of Russian aerial operations on ISIS positions in the Syrian desert, as Russian fighter jets successively executed over 85 airstrikes in the past 24 hours, targeting caves, bunkers and back lines in al-Rasafa and Ithiriya deserts in the triangle of Aleppo-Hama-al-Raqqah, and other positions in al-Sukhnah desert in the eastern countryside of Homs on the administrative border with Deir Ezzor province. However, ISIS sources could not verified the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent airstrikes.

On Saturday, SOHR sources reported that Russian aircraft continued their aerial operations in the Syrian desert, targeting positions, caves and bunkers where ISIS members were holed up and hide in Ithiriya and al-Rasafa deserts in Aleppo-Hama-al-Raqqah triangle, al-Sukhnah and Palmyra deserts in east Homs countryside and Deir Ezzor desert.

In this context, SOHR activists reported that Russian fighter jets executed over 40 airstrikes. According to SOHR sources, these airstrikes left nine ISIS members dead and 12 others injured. It is worth noting that most of the fatalities were documented in al-Raqqah and Hama deserts.
