Second attack in a week | Russian air-defences foil new attack on Hmeimim airbase

Latakia province: SOHR activists have reported hearing several explosions in the area of the Russian airbase of Hmeimim in Jablah countryside on the Syrian coastline, caused by air-defences fire, while attempting to intercept “hostile” missiles targeting the base. However, the nature of the attack remained unknown whether it was a rocket attack or a drone attack. It is worth noting that no missiles managed to reach their targets inside the airbase.

On September 27, SOHR activists reported explosions on the largest Russian base in Syria, Hamemem base. The fire happened while the Russian air defense has intercepted a rocket fire on the base stationed in Latakkia countryside, where the rockets dropped on agricultural lands in al-Qerdaha and Joubilia countryside which caused material losses. But, no information were reached about the drop of any missiles on the base till the moment.
