Clashes with smugglers | Three members of Customs service’s patrol killed and injured near Homs-Tartus highway

SOHR sources have reported that clashes erupted between a patrol of Customs service and a vehicle carrying smugglers, when the patrol attempted to stop the vehicle near al-Nour petrol station near Homs-Tartus highway. The clashes left a member of the patrol, who was from Shu’ayrat village in Homs countryside, dead and two other members injured, while the vehicle of the Customs service’s patrol was burnt down, as it was subjected to intensive gunfire by the smugglers. The smugglers are believed to be affiliated with one of the regime’s security branches.
