First fatality of Turkish forces in 2021 | Soldier killed by unidentified gunmen near M4 road

The Syrian Observatory has documented the death of a soldier of the Turkish forces of wounds he sustained a few days ago, following an armed attack on a Turkish post in western countryside of Idlib. SOHR sources reported on January 31 that unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the outpost of a Turkish military post in Abu Al-Zubayr area near Muhambel town on Aleppo-Latakia international highway “M4” in western Idlib. The attack left two Turkish soldiers injured.
On January 17, SOHR activists said that a Turkish sergeant was injured, after unidentified gunmen opened fire on the Turkish outposts in Batbo village in west Aleppo countryside.

Similarly, on January 3, SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion near Maarrat Misrin caused by an RPG attack by unknown gunmen on a Turkish military vehicle, while it was passing by the junction of Kafriya village in the north of Idlib city. No casualties were reported. Meanwhile, security services of the factions and Turkish forces cordoned off the site of the attack.
