YPG retakes the Assyrian villages around the town of Tal Tamer, and destiny of 90 Assyrians is still unknown

 

YPG could retake the villages of Tal Shamira, Tal Hormoz and Tal Nasri which is inhabited are inhabited by Assyrian Christians. They also retook wide parts from the village of Ghaybesh which is inhabited by Sunni Arabs, while the clashes are still ongoing between YPG and IS in the vicinity of Tal Tamer Town. The sources informed SOHR that YPG found 4 bodies, including a man and two of his children, in the village of Ghaybesh killed by IS on charge of “dealing with YPG”. The same sources reported that IS militants had burned a part of a church in Tal Shamira and 2 houses. It is noted that the destiny of 90 Assyrians, who were detained yesterday in the villages of Tal Shamira, Tal Hormoz and Tal Nasri and dragged to Abdul Aziz Mountain in the southwest of Tal Tamer, is still unknown. The same sources confirmed to SOHR that the communication has been lost with 25 Assyrians of those who displaced when IS attack started on Tal Tamer town, and it is unknown whether they have been kidnapped or hide in the nearby villages.

Reliable sources confirmed to SOHR that the foreign fighter in YPG ranks who died yesterday in clashes with IS militants in the countryside of Tal Hamis is from Australia, where YPG revealed his identity and called Ashley Joniston . Meanwhile, sporadic clashes are taking place in the area due to the bad weather.
