SOHR knew that IS militants have taken control over the defense lines of the eastern, southern, western, southern western and southern eastern countryside on the city of Ayn al- Arab. Thus, the number of villages, towns and communities that IS took control have risen to 325 since the beginning of IS attack on the countryside of Ayn al- Arab in September 16, 2014, amid fears of committing massacres against the Kurdish civilians who remain in the city of Ayn al- Arab and in some villages in a case that IS fighters could storm and control them or to face the same destiny of 200000 Kurdish civilians who were displaced from their villages 2 weeks ago where dozens of thousands of their livestock, cars, farm tractors, vehicles and houses  were stolen. In the meantime, the destiny of 800 Kurdish people has still ambiguous; it is unknown whether they are still alive or killed by IS.

SOHR knew from the parents of students of the preparatory school that IS released 70 students outs of 150 who have been kidnaped by IS in May 29, 2014 in Manbej area. Those students are from Ayn al- Arab city. They have been kidnapped when they were returning from doing their third preparatory level exam in the regime- held area in the province of Aleppo. Later on, 5 students could escape while 37 other were released and 108 have still kidnapped. The parents of the students, who were released, informed SOHR that IS fighters have still abducted 30 other students on a pretext of being relatives for members in the Kurdish Democratic Union Party. This release comes after 36 hours of carrying out raids by U.S. and allied warplanes on the mills and grain silos in Manbej and on an IS prison in the road of Manbej- Jarablos.
