Ain Issa battles in four days | Nearly 25 fighters of Turkish-backed factions killed in failed military attacks to cut off Hasakeh-Aleppo international road, under Turkish orders

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of seven Ankara-backed factions and the wounding of four others, as a result of violent clashes with the SDF yesterday evening, on Al-Mushrefa frontline, north-east of Ain Issa, in northern countryside of Raqqa.

This brings the death toll of the factions since Friday, December 18 to date to 24. All of whom were killed in the failed attacks and attempts to advance and cut off the Hasaka – Aleppo international road, under Turkish orders and support.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that Russian officers met with Turkish officers in Sharkerak silos to discuss several matters concerning the region, particularly the recent Turkish military escalation.

On December 19, SOHR sources said that the fate of the two men who have been buried under the rubble of a booby-trapped house in Jahbal village in Ain Issa countryside in northern Al-Raqqah, after the explosion of a landmine in the early hours of Friday morning, has yet to be known. Meanwhile, the residents are not able to get close the house to recover the two men due to the ongoing military operations in the area.

According to SOHR sources, at least one of the two men has been still alive until yesterday evening. While the village’s residents appealed, via SOHR, to the relevant bodies to recover the two men from under the rubble. It is worth noting that the residents uselessly begged to the Russian base in the area and SDF to rescue the men.
