Blasts in rebel-controlled areas | IED explodes in north-eastern Aleppo, leaving three casualties
Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported hearing an explosion in Al-Ghandourah town, which is under the control of Turkish forces and their proxies, in north-eastern Aleppo. The explosion, which took place this morning on the town’s outskirts, was caused by the detonation of an IED in the vehicle of people working at the crossing to areas controlled by “Al-Jabha Al-Shamiyyah”. The explosion killed two people and injured another one.
On August 24, SOHR sources said that the National Army-affiliated 3rd Corps issued a circular, ordering all military formations operating under its banner to evacuate all military headquarters inside residential neighbourhoods in Afrin city and move to other headquarters outside the city in no more than a week.
The circular, of which the Syrian Observatory obtained a copy, read: “to all military formation of the ‘3rd Corps’, you have to leave all headquarters affiliated to the 3rd Corps’ formations inside Afrin city to the headquarters outside the city in a week as of the date of the circular.”
This circular came in the wake of ongoing demands by the residents and civil bodies in Afrin city to evacuate the military headquarters and put an end to arms presence in the city, as well as the ongoing violations against civilians.
