Dissidence signs | Quarrels disturb “Free Idlib Army”, while commanders demanding the leader get court-martial

Reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that disputes are prevailing among the commanders of the “Jaysh Idlib Al-Hurr” (Free Idlib Army), over accusations by commanders of the faction’s battalions, the most prominent of which is “Liwaa Suqur Al-Jabal”, to the faction’s leader of dispersing and weakening the formation “Free Idlib Army”, provoking dissensions and prejudicing the sons of “martyrs”.

The battalions’ commanders also accused their leader of wasting the potentials of the “Free Idlib Army” while confronting the latest regime military campaign which led the regime forces to capture tens of towns and villages in Idlib countryside.

According to SOHR sources, the dispute started after decisions by Jaysh Idlib’s leader, the brigadier general Afif Suleiman, of re-designating the commanders of Jaysh Idlib’s battalions. Suqur Al-Jabal commanders felt that these decisions prejudicing them, which pushed them to demand the faction’s leader be court-martialed.

It is worth noting that the “Free Idlib Army” was formed in September 2016, with Suqur Al-Jabal, Al-Ferqah Al-Shamaliyah and the 13th Brigade as its main pillars.
