Free Syrian army announced that it seized a vital region for the production of oil between Deir al-Zour and the borders of Iraq.

The opposition sources said that the Free Army has made progress in the north and east, but is not yet able to control major cities of the regular forces.

For his part, the army bombed yesterday Assad several towns in Damascus.

And included bombing Darya and Medmah Sham and killing three civilians.

The opposition sources said that the artillery shelling also hit areas in the provinces of Deraa (south) and Idlib (northwest) and the northern city of Aleppo and Deir al-Zour (Eastern).

Furthermore, condemned the Assad regime Turkey asked NATO deploy Patriot missiles near the border of the two countries and described it as a "provocative act."

In a first reaction to Ankara's request earlier this week Syrian television quoted on Friday a Foreign Ministry source as saying that Syria will carry Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan responsibility for the increasing tension on the border.

The Turkish request came after talks between Ankara and its NATO allies on how to strengthen security on its borders with Syria, which has a length of 900 kilometers.

The Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen said on Thursday that the possible deployment of Patriot missiles "purely defensive" and will "constitute a deterrent to potential enemies just thinking to launch attacks."
