ISIS withdraws from al-Bokamal city after killing about 50 of the regime forces, Iranian Forces, and militias loyal to them in 72 hours

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the return of calm to al-Bokamal city west of Euphrates River in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, due to the decline of ISIS control and withdrawing from the city towards its desert, in conjunction with advancement of the regime forces and the Iranian Forces and the gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, and regaining control of sites and areas they lost during the organization’s attack, which was started on Friday, the 8th of June 2018, where the organization aims through its series of successive and consecutive attacks on positions of the regime forces, Iranian forces, the Lebanese Hezbollah, and the gunmen loyal to them in al-Bokamal area, and on the road of Tehran – Beirut and in west of Euphrates River, to inflict as many casualties and injuries as possible, and to disperse the regime forces and scatter its ranks, and organization withdrew before the regime was able to besiege it and trapp it inside the city, by monitoring the withdrawal points towards Bokamal Desert.

The continuous violent clashes in the past 72 hours have caused casualties in the ranks of both parties as well as loss in the equipment, and tens of others were injured with varying severity, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, where it rose to at least 48 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them, they are 31 Syrians and Syrian militias loyal to Iran Including a high-ranking military commander at the regime forces, and at least one leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah, 5 of the Iraqi militias, and the rest of them are of Iran and its Asian militias, also it rose to 32 ISIS members at least, including 10 who detonated themselves up with booby-trapped vehicles and explosive belts, of who were documented by the Syrian Observatory until now during the shelling, clashes and bombings, thus, it rose to 246 members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, 2 of them were executed and 9 of them are of the Russian Forces, during clashes and confrontations accompanied by detonating members of the “Islamic State” organization for themselves using booby trapped vehicle and explosive belts in the clash sites, also the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 138 members of the organization in these clashes, which have been carried out out-of-a-sudden in the eastern countryside of Homs and Deir Ezzor since the 22nd of May 2018 until today, the date of ISIS exit from the south of Damascus, until today, the 9th of June 2018, within 1286, the number of deaths of both parties who have been documented by the Syrian Observatory, in the provinces of Damascus, Deir Ezzor and Homs, where it rose to 776, the number of members of the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them who were killed in clashes in al-Bokamal Desert, the countryside of Deir Ezzor, south of the capital Damascus and the eastern outskirts of Homs, where 2 thirds of them were killed in the south of Damascus, also it rose to 510 at least, the number of members of the “Islamic State” organization who were killed in the same battles, since the recovery of the Organization on the 13th of March 2018, also tens of others of both parties were killed and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, in addition to the presence of missing members and captives in the ranks of the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published last night that violent clashes are taking place in areas near the Second Station “T2”, at the administrative border between the eastern countryside of Homs and Deir Ezzor countryside, between the members of the “Islamic State” organization against the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, accompanied by intensive exchange of shelling between the both parties, in renewed attacks carried out by the organization in order to inflict more human losses in the ranks of the regime forces and their allies in the area, amid confirmed information about the fall of casualties and wounded in the ranks of the both parties as a result of the shelling and clashes.
