Islamic State Issues ID Cards and Driving Licenses

The Islamic State (IS) has started to issue ID cards and driving licenses for people living under their authority in Syria.

Director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdulrahman confirmed that IS is issuing ID cards and driving licenses for the residents of Raqqa in northern Syria.

Abdulrahman Said, “IS issues ID cards to every resident over 13 years old in Raqqa.”

Since they took control of some areas in Syria and Iraq, IS militants been issuing documents such as fine receipts and marriage and death certificates.

The jihadist group is putting its utmost efforts into organising a working state, but has failed to even provide proper and standard services until now.
