IS Organization asks for handing weapons over from the people of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor Province: Reliable sources informed SOHR activists that IS demanded from the people of the village of Sfirah Tehtani located in the west of Deir Ezzor to hand over an automatic rifle for each family or to pay a sum of money determined by IS as well as to hand over all the licensed weapons. It is noted that SOHR published in February 24, that IS organization asked, through Friday Sermon, the people of the villages of al- Hejni, Barsham and Hrayzah in the countryside of al- Bsirah located in the east of Deir Ezzor to hand over an automatic rifle and 4 magazines full of bullets for each house on these villages. The sources confirmed that these villages did not fight IS. The information also reported 25 days ago that IS informed the people of the village of Mrat that they have to hand over 350 automatic rifles with no information about the reason of this request. The sources confirmed that this resolution came after IS militants arrested ex- fighters in the rebel and Islamic battalions.

Clashes took place between IS and the regime forces in the south of the city of Deir Ezzor in an attempt by the regime forces to advance towards al- Shola area.
