Citrus shipment departs from Syrian Latakia Port to Russian Novrcisc port

MOSCOW: Vice President of Syrian-Russian Business Council, Dr Samer Othman, said that the third citrus shipment departed from Syrian port of Latakia to Russian port of Novrcisc and explained all difficulties that appeared during first and second shipments.

Osman pointed out that the citrus shipments will continue until the end of the season. He also revealed that positive steps have been taken to ensure the ships do not return empty, but loaded with Russian goods, including timber and some food items, making the process more efficient.

Osman also confirmed plans to invest in industrial applications that could save time and costs. At the moment, the cost of shipping refrigerated containers from the port of Latakia to the port of Novrcisc is of about 650 Euro, with a shipping time of seven days.

He also confirmed interest in promoting trade between Syria and Russia, to bring it to a level on par with the good political and social relations between both countries.
