Relief aid convoy allowed to enter S. Damascus – SOHR

AMMAN, Jan 11 (KUNA) — A food and relief convoy has been allowed to enter Al-Qadam neighborhood, South of Damascus, under an agreement framework reached by Damascus governor, Commander of the National Defense, prominent figures in Al-Qadam and Al-Assaly, and representatives of fighting factions in both neighborhoods.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Sunday the agreement stipulates on ceasefire between the two sides, withdrawal of Syrian regime’s army from entire Al-Qadam neighborhood, re-distribution of army barriers on the neighborhood’s entries only, and release of Al-Qadam and Al-Assaly detainees from the regime’s prisons, particularly women and children.
Meanwhile, a child from the town of Al-Shefoneyyi, Eastern Ghota, died of wounds he sustained earlier in bombardment by the regime’s forces on areas in the town, said SOHR, adding that another child died due to poor medical conditions and lack of treatment in the Eastern Ghota, while other child from southern Damascus outskirts died due to bad weather and acute shortage of heating.
