Islamic State closes 2 institutions in Deir Ezzor

Reliable sources informed SOHR that IS closed 2 institutions of teaching Preparatory and secondary school students in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor under pretext of “not allowed to be opened but by the approval of Islamic State”.

 

In the first week of this month, cross- cutting sources informed SOHR that Islamic State has closed most of schools in the province of Deir Ezzor because as they said “ undergoing the teachers to Sharia courses, and until the completion of the preparation of a new educational curriculum instead of the blasphemous current curriculum.”

 

The resources also reported to SOHR that Islamic State held a meeting on last Wednesday afternoon in a mosque in the city of al- Mayadin with the teachers and principals informing them about IS decision that is “ teachers must undergo Sharia course in al- Rawda Mosque in al- Mayadin until the completion of the preparation of a new educational curriculum instead of the blasphemous current curriculum.”

 

In addition to, SOHR had been informed by sources and teachers in the city of al- Bokamal in “Al- Forat State”, located on the Syrian- Iraqi border, that IS militants informed the teachers yesterday that this is the last day of teaching, and that they have to enroll the Sharia course until new curriculum had been developed.

 

Meanwhile, some students with some of their relatives and teachers demonstrated in an IS held- neighborhood in Deir Ezzor demanding for re- opening the schools and allowing the teachers and students to continue teaching and studying.
