A Kurdish member of the Turkish parliament has pleaded for help to save the Syrian border town of Ain al-Arab, also known as Kobani to Kurds, from the Takfiri ISIL attacks amid ineffective US-led airstrikes.

“We call on the international community, democratic organizations in Turkey and the Turkish government to support the fight for Kobani and to stand together for the people of Kobani,” Sebahat Tucel, the co-chairperson of Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), said on Saturday.

The appeal came as the city’s Kurdish defenders say they are expecting a new ISIL assault to capture Kobani.

The Takfiri militants have threatened to take Kobani within days.

On Saturday, the rumble of artillery could be heard on both the eastern and western flanks of the town.

Syrian Kurdish fighters also have called on all Kurds across the region to take up arms against the ISIL militants.

In a statement, the armed wing of Syria’s Kurdish Supreme Committee has pledged “never-ending” resistance against the Takfiri ISIL militants.

“Every street and house [in Kobani] will be a grave for them,” the statement added.

This is while, the Turkish government does not allow Kurdish fighters to cross the border into Syria and join the fight against the ISIL militants.

Meanwhile, the US-led coalition has carried out fresh airstrikes against the ISIL positions near the Kurdish town. Local commanders say the attacks have so far failed to stop the terrorist group’s advance.
There are fears of a bloody massacre if the border town falls into the hands of the ISIL terrorists.

The three-week intense battle for the strategic town has forced tens of thousands of people to take refuge in Turkey.
