More than 100 thousand civilians displaced by ongoing clashes in western and eastern Reef Deir Izzor:

Deir Izzor province: Violent clashes are taking place in the perimeter of the Jadid A’keidat village in eastern Reef Deir Izzor, the industrial city and the al-Ma’amel area in the northern entrance of Deir Izzor city between the ISIS from one side and fighters from al-Nusra front, an islamic brigade, islamic battalions and local militants from the other. The ISIS completely took over western Reef Deir Izzor after violent clashes with al-Nusra front, the islamic front and local supporting militants, clashes last night led to the death of 7 ISIS fighters, including a fighter from Kazakhstan, and 12 fighters from al-Nusra front, the islamic front and supporting local militants.


At least 230 fighters and several civilians from both sides were killed by the clashes that broke out 10 days earlier on the 30th of April when ISIS fighters attacked several areas in western and eastern Reef Deir Izzor. Clashes also led to the displacement of more than 100 thousand of the areas’ residents to nearby areas, in search of a safe haven.
