Raging fighting NW Syria results in 130 casualties – SOHR

DAMASCUS, March 25 (KUNA) — The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (SOHR) reported Tuesday that the raging fighting between the regular troops and opposition forces in Kassab town, northwest Syria, near the borders with Turkey, left 130 casualties from both sides.
Twelve soldiers and two officers were killed and more than 40 others wounded in a gunfight with Islamist fighters at the strategic post No. 45 before it fell in the rebel hands.
The clashes claimed at least six Islamist lives, including five foreigners, besides 75 wounded persons.
Fighting is still going on in the vicinity of the post as the regular troops are trying to recapture the strategic post. (end) tk.gb KUNA 260110 Mar 14NNNN
