More than 120 members of Lebanese Hezbollah were killed in clashes around Yarboud city in Syria, the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights declared on Sunday.

Meanwhile Lebanese newspaper Daily Star reported on Monday of Hezbollah suffering heavy losses in Syria near Yarboud.

The National Change Party of Syria said in its daily news letter that in past few days bodies of 56 members of Hezbollah killed in the clashes have entered Lebanon.

A source close to Hezbollah, who requested to remain anonymous, told The Daily Star that around 500 Hezbollah members had been killed since the group began fighting the Syrian opposition groups.

A website close to the group said that up until March 7, Hezbollah had lost 40 fighters in one month of fierce battles in Yabroud, Daily Star reported.
